To Friends of Bates Academy:

As director of The Bates Academy Chorus, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the generous contribution that you made to our ensemble. Purchasing 80 plus choir robes for the ensemble has been truly a blessing from above. Now that the young singers have unique and stylish attire they are even more excited about performing at school and in the community for family, friends, and special events.

The Chorus was picture perfect at our Annual Winter Concert in December, 2005, at Detroit School of the Arts. In mid-January 2006, The Bates Academy Pride Day featured the Chorus performing in our newly acquired uniform. The Michigan Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) District Choral Festival in February gave the chorus the opportunity to shine again performing with excellence showing off our golden robes.

Our schedule does not stop at District Festival. The excellent ratings of “I”, secures the chorus a performance at (MSVMA) State Middle School/JH Festival to be held on the Central Michigan University Campus in May. This is the 4th year that we have made it to the state level. Fortunately, this is a special year because it is the first year that the ladies and gentlemen have a bright and refreshing uniform. Furthermore, we do not have to worry about a student “standing out” because of what they are wearing.

I must say that these uniforms make the children feel proud to be apart of something positive and productive.

We, the chorus and I, commend you (FOBA) for your dedication to our classmates, teachers, and the entire school. Many classrooms have benefited from the continuous efforts and financial support that you have given over the years. I must say that your organization is a jewel for the school community at large. You are to be commended for unselfish giving and enhancing the educational growth of our children.
